Rou Gui
Rou Gui
The infusion is orange-brown in color, dense. The first woody, chocolatey and roasted chestnut notes then give way to floral and fruity scents, which balance this tea with a very notable length in the mouth.
Suggestions from our Master
Rou Gui is a rock tea, produced in the well-known Wu Yi mountain region, where tea has been cultivated for a long time, probably since the Song dynasty according to historical texts. Ruo Gui tea plants are a new variety, dating from the 1980s.
The manufacturing method resembles that of Shui Xian, with roasting following the fermentation phase, carried out up to a degree of leaf oxidation of 40-50%. When tasting, the aromatic range of Ruo Gui is wider than that of Shui Xian in floral and fruity notes.
