The color of the infusion is red, tending to brown. When tasting, this tannic and very full-bodied tea retains all its roundness in its woody and chocolatey notes.
Remarks
Produced in a province known to the Chinese for the excellence of its green teas, “Gong Fu red tea from Qimen district” is one of the best-known Chinese teas. In the West it is called “Keemun”. The story goes that an official returning from Fujian in 1875, at the end of his term, happily attempted to import the red tea-making techniques he had learned in Fujian to the Qimen region. The first gardens were established at the foot of Huang Shan Mountain and the success of the results of these trials was such that many green tea gardens were now dedicated to Keemun for export to the West.Details
