Huang Shan Mao Feng
Huang Shan Mao Feng
The infusion is clear, slightly yellow and its presence is “velvety” on the palate with a discreet note of chestnut. The aromatic bouquet is floral with scents of magnolia and orchid.
Suggestions from our Master
The name “Mao Feng” refers to the manufacturing method which aims to preserve all the hairs of the down present on the buds. The name “Huang Shan” is known to many tourists who have visited the “Yellow Mountains” massif, a superb landscape where rocky peaks at an altitude of 1200-1500 meters pierce the clouds and morning mists. Tea cultivation has been known in Anhui province since the Song dynasty and production in the “Yellow Mountains” appeared during the Ming dynasty, with the cultivation of wild tea plants growing in the crevices of rocky peaks. It was in the 19th century that plantation cultivation of tea plants selected in these mountains began to produce the vintage that was then called “Huang Shan Mao Feng”.
