Suggestions from our Master
According to certain historical texts, the production of this tea dates back to the Ming dynasty, a period during which it was given the name "Perfume that frightens man", due to the power of its scents. Later, Emperor Kangxi of the Qing dynasty decided, in the 17th century, to name it “Jade Spiral of Spring”. The best Bi Luo Chun are only produced in March and one hundred and fifty thousand buds are required for one kilogram of this tea. Production of this specialty is limited to the Lake Tai region west of Shanghai. The humidity of the lake actually creates a climate suitable for growing tea plants and the numerous fruit trees that grow near the tea gardens contribute to the aromatic richness of Bi Luo Chun.
